Report: Duke Coach Mike Krzyzewski Set To Retire After Coming Season

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – According to multiple reports, college basketball and Duke coaching legend Mike Krzyzewski is set to retire after the coming season.
Krzyzewski, lovingly known as Coach K, has served as the head coach at Duke since 1980.
No coach in Division I men’s basketball history has won more games than Coach K’s 1,157. He lead Duke to five National Championships and a record 35 NCAA Tournament bids by a single coach.

The leading candidate to replace K is assistant and former Duke player Jon Scheyer.

He is also an 11-time Olympic gold medalist with the U.S. Men’s basketball team as a head or assistant coach.
Coach K’s list of accomplishments goes on forever, as will his impact on the sport of college basketball.
Krzyzewski, born in Chicago, is currently 74-years-old.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Krzyzewski and Duke officials are finalizing a move to name Jon Scheyer as the coach in waiting. Scheyer is currently Duke’s associate head coach.
