Rio Tinto Stadium To Host Liga MX Fixture Between Club América & Santos Laguna

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Soccer fans in Utah just got another reason to celebrate the July 4th holiday this year with the announcement that Liga MX clubs Santos Laguna and Club América will face off at Rio Tinto Stadium on America’s birthday.
The announcement adds another marquee game for Rio Tinto Stadium after U.S Soccer announced the upcoming friendly between the US Men’s National Team and Costa Rica on June 9, also at Rio Tinto Stadium.
Club América and Santos Laguna are two of the most popular soccer clubs in Mexico with a combined record of 19 Liga MX titles between them. Club América holds the record for 13 Liga MX titles since its inception 104 years ago.
