SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Real Salt Lake goalkeeper David Ochoa has been named to the US Men’s National Team roster ahead of their friendly against Switzerland on May 30.
“We felt like David [Ochoa] has a strong Olympic qualifying,” Manager Gregg Berhalter said. “We realized our goalkeeper pool lacks youth and it will be important to get him integrated as soon as possible.”
Ochoa, 20, is joined on the 27-player roster by the likes of Daryl Dike, Weston Mckennie, Tim Weah, Gio Reyna, Sergino Dest, among others.
The other two goalkeepers on the roster are 25-year-old Ethan Horvath who plays for Club Brugge KV in Belgium and 18-year-old Chituru Odunze who plays for Leicester City.

The recent call up to the U.S. first team is the second for Ochoa. His only other previous call-up came earlier in 2021, but unfortunately, he was forced to depart training camp early after suffering a right quadriceps injury.
Training camp begins on Tuesday, May 25, in St. Gallen, Switzerland.
Ochoa will consequently miss the May 29 home encounter against Minnesota United as he fights for his first USMNT cap on the other side of the pond.
The upcoming friendly will be available to watch on ESPN, UniMás, and TUDN with the broadcast starting at noon from Kybunpark on May 30.
