SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Bobby Wood’s wife has had their baby and is expected to be in Utah within a “couple of weeks,” according to Real Salt Lake’s General Manager who announced the news on local radio station ESPN 700.
“Bobby’s wife was pregnant and due to give birth recently and I believe that they had the baby yesterday,” Fall said. “From what I have heard everything went well and the baby is doing well and his wife is well so now it is just Bobby settling things there, making sure everything is good and we expect to see him in Salt Lake pretty soon.”

RSL is slated to play two more MLS matches against FC Dallas this weekend and then at home the following Saturday (May 29) before embarking on a few week’s rest for international games to be played around the world.
The next match following the home fixture with Minnesota will not be until June 18 when RSL hosts Vancouver Whitecaps.
“I certainly expect by that time in the middle of June we will have Bobby fully up and running,” Fall added.
Assuming everything goes according to plan, it is likely that Wood will be in Salt Lake prior to the fixture on June 18 against Vancouver. Match fitness and availability for selection are still yet to be determined.
The arrival of Wood has sparked great interest from the fanbase and his arrival is highly anticipated. Wood, 28, has played his entire career in Germany thus far. It will be the first time that he has played in Major League Soccer despite having notched 45 games for the US Men’s National Team, scoring 13 goals.
