Basketball Hall Of Fame Honors Life Of Jazz Legend Jerry Sloan

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame honored the life of Utah Jazz legendary head coach Jerry Sloan.
The Hall of Fame inducted the 2020 class on Saturday and honored the lives that were lost since the last ceremony in 2019, including Jerry Sloan. They played a video to remember those individuals in the Hall of Fame that passed away during that stretch of time.
Individuals that were honored alongside Sloan included Kobe Bryant, former NBA Commissioner David Stern, Arizona head coaching legend Lute Olson, Georgetown legend John Thompson and many more.

Jerry Sloan has passed away at the age of 78 on May 22, 2020 after a battle with Parkinson’s disease and Lewy body dementia since April 2016.
He was the longest-tenured head coach in American major league sports with the same franchise when he resigned as the head coach of the Jazz on February 10, 2011. Sloan was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2009.
