SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Jazz got off to a great start against the San Antonio Spurs and head coach Gregg Popovich wasn’t allowing the run to extend.

Just 40 seconds into the game and the Jazz scoring just five points, Spurs head coach Greg Popovich called a timeout.

The Jazz won the opening tipoff when Joe Ingles made a floater in the lane to put them up 2-0. Spurs guard Dejounte Murray turned the ball over, which turned into a three-pointer for Royce O’Neale. After the three, Popovich immediately called a timeout.

The Spurs are coming in with heavy legs after playing an overtime game on Sunday, falling to the Philadelphia 76ers 113-111. Utah is coming off of a win over the Toronto Raptors on Saturday night.

The Jazz are still without Donovan Mitchell and Mike Conley due to injury.

Utah is in the middle of a five-game homestand. They will have a rematch with the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday, May 3 at 7 p.m. MDT on AT&T SportsNet.
