Utah Basketball Among Top 4 For Boston College F Steffon Mitchell

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah Runnin’ Utes basketball made the top four list for Boston College transfer forward Steffon Mitchell.
Senior forward Steffon Mitchell is leaving Boston College and will decide between Utah, San Diego State, Minnesota or Texas A&M.
Mitchell gave his top four list to Stadium’s college basketball insider Jeff Goodman on Sunday.

Mitchell is a 6’8, 220 lbs. forward from Sunrise Christian Academy High School and claims Shakopee, Minnesota his hometown. He joined the Golden Eagles as a freshman in 2017-18 where he played in 34 games with 27 starts, averaging 6.4 points and 8.3 rebounds. As a sophomore, he posted averages of 4.6 points and 7.9 rebounds per contest.
As a junior in 2019-20, he averaged 7.8 points and 8.7 rebounds per game. His best season was this past campaign when he averaged 9.1 points and 7.3 rebounds per contest.
Utah has had their recent turnover on the roster since Craig Smith took over as head coach. Mikael Jantunen decided to go back home to Finland to pursue a professional basketball career. Also, Timmy Allen (Texas), Alfonso Plummer (Illinois), Ian Martinez (Maryland), Pelle Larsson (undecided) and Jordan Kellier (undecided) have left the program.
There is a chance that Larsson returns to the Utes and pulls his name from the portal.
Craig Smith and his staff has picked up four players via the transfer portal, including Gabe Madsen (Cincinnati), David Jenkins Jr. (UNLV), Rollie Worster (Utah State) and Marco Anthony (Utah State).
