SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Everywhere you look, former BYU quarterback Zach Wilson is in the news. The blue-chip QB prospect has been all the buzz leading up to tonight’s NFL draft.
Wilson is expected to be the first player to go up on the stage and embrace NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell in Cleveland when the New York Jets pick at No. 2. Projected No. 1 overall pick Trevor Lawrence is staying in Cartersville, Georgia, for the draft.
NFL Draft Full House video
To highlight Wilson and the other attendees in the green room for the 2021 NFL draft, the NFL released a funny Tik Tok inspired by the opening credits from the TV show Full House.
@nfl##nfldraft2021 starts in ONE DAY! 🤩 who are you most excited to see?
Iconic theme song and an iconic BYU quarterback led the video with a simple blowing a kiss action. This is content creation at its finest NFL. We just needed a cameo from Danny Tanner, a.k.a. Bob Saget, to complete this video.
Besides Wilson, other quarterbacks in the green room for the draft include Alabama’s Mac Jones and North Dakota State’s Trey Lance. Both Jones and Lance are linked as possibilities to go No. 3 overall to the San Francisco 49ers. 49ers head coach Kyle Shannahan reportedly wants to go with Jones, while members of the San Francisco scouting department want Lance.
Florida tight end Kyle Pitts, considered the clear-cut best non-quarterback prospect in this year’s draft, will also be in attendance in Cleveland for the draft. This is the first NFL draft since 2019 that will have players in attendance.
Last year’s draft was all virtual due to the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic.

When last year’s draft was taking place, Zach Wilson was likely nowhere near anyone’s top draft picks. But after a junior season where he passed for 3,692 yards and 33 touchdowns, Wilson quickly rose the mock draft ladder and has now become a consensus No. 2 overall pick to the Jets.
Jets fans hope that Wilson –to steal a line from Full House– is the light that is waiting to carry them to a Super Bowl home once again. Something the Jets haven’t experienced since Joe Namath in 1968.
