Utah State Basketball Adds Nate Dixon To Coaching Staff
LOGAN, Utah – Utah State men’s basketball head coach Ryan Odom announced that he has hired Nate Dixon to his coaching staff in Logan.
Nate Dixon and Utah State head coach Ryan Odom have coached together in three previous stops.
“I’ve been all over the country, but the Mountain West is my favorite league in all of college basketball,” Dixon said. “There’s nothing like that college-town feel, the support of passionate fan bases and community involvement. Utah State checks all those boxes and I couldn’t be happier to continue working with Coach Odom and be a part of his staff. My family and I are looking forward to building upon the winning culture that we’ve got here in Logan.”
Dixon was the lead assistant coach under Odom for five seasons at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC).
His coaching career started in 1997 at Belmont Abbey and 1998-00 at Queens, both are Division II schools. Then he went to Stetson from 2001-03 before spending two years at Florida. After the stop in Gainesville, Dixon went to Louisiana-Monroe from 2005-07, New Orleans from 2007-09, Louisana-Lafayette from 2009-10 and Wyoming from 2010-11.
Dixon and Odom began working together at Charlotte and then again at Lenoir-Rhyne before going to UMBC. Odom has hired three assistants now to the program, including Dixon, Matt Henry and Bryce Crawford.
