Mike Conley Dishes 5000th Career Assist During Timberwolves/Jazz Game

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Jazz guard Mike Conley handed out his 5000th career assist during the opening quarter of Utah’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Jazz hosted the Wolves at at Vivint Arena on Saturday, April 24.
With 6:29 remaining in the first quarter, Conley found Royce O’Neale for a 27-foot three-pointer.
The pass was Conley’s 5000th career assist and his fourth of the game.
It was Conley’s 491st assist as a member of the Jazz.
O’Neale triple gave Utah a 20-10 advantage on the scoreboard.

All-Time Assists
After five assists in the quarter, Conley moved up to a tied for 67th on the NBA’s all-time leaderboard in assists.
He tied former Jazzman Joe Johnson with 5,001 assists.
Only seven active players are ahead of Conley on the career list.
Jazz legend John Stockton is the league’s all-time leader with 15,806 assists.

Timberwolves vs. Jazz
At the end of the quarter, the Jazz led 40-26.
During the opening 12 minutes of action, Conley had eight points on 2-3 shooting. Both makes were three-pointers.
He also had one rebound in the quarter.
Conley posted a plus-11 rating during his first seven minutes on the hardwood.
