LOGAN, Utah – Utah State basketball picked up another player in the portal and another UMBC player in guard R.J. Eytle-Rock.

R.J. Eytle-Rock will reunite with his head coach Ryan Odom who took over for Craig Smith at Utah State.

Eytle-Rock announced his decision via Twitter on Monday.

The London, England native finished his third season with UMBC. Every season with the Retrievers, Eytle-Rock improved his numbers. As a freshman in 2018-19, he averaged 5.1 points in 31 games played with 24 starts. During his sophomore year, Eytle-Rock bumped his scoring average up to 11.2 points per game in 22 games played with 20 starts.

This past season, he had his best season, posting 14.3 points per game, starting in all 20 games.

It was reported by Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports on April 15 that Ryan Odom would bring three assistants, including Nate Dixon, Matt Henry and Bryce Crawford from Baltimore to Logan.

This is the second UMBC player to leave the program and join their head coach at Utah State. Eytle-Rock joins forward Brandon Horvath.
