SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – NBA free agency will begin Monday, August 2. The moratorium on contractual agreements will begin at 12:01 am on August 3 and will continue through August 6.
The NBA season schedule is set to wrap up on July 22, while the NBA draft will be held on July 29.
The NBA season has been pushed back a month after beginning shortly before Christmas due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The NBA offseason will also overlap with the Tokyo Olympics which were rescheduled to run between July 23 to August 8.
Once a highly sought-after free agency period, the market has dried up considerably in light of the financial uncertainties due to the pandemic. Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo signed an extension to remain with the Bucks before the season began, as did Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert.
However, there are a few high-profile players set to hit free agency in August.
Los Angeles Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard will be the top target in free agency, followed by Phoenix Suns guard Chris Paul, Jazz guard Mike Conley, Miami Heat guard Vicor Oladipo, and San Antonio Spurs guard DeMar DeRozan.
