SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Villanova Wildcats scored an improbable touchdown on a ridiculous pass during their game against the Delaware Blue Hens.
The Wildcats hosted the Blue Hens for the FCS game on Saturday, April 17.
With 3:06 left in the game and Villanova trailing by 14 points, Wildcats quarterback Daniel Smith took the snap and rolled out to the right as he scanned the end zone for an open receiver.
Delaware’s defense was able to pressure Smith and tripped him up as he was running towards the sideline.
As Smith was falling to the turf, he did a somersault and tossed the ball towards the goal line in the middle of the flip.
Charlie Gilroy caught the pass for a one-yard touchdown.
