SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Tony Finau made birdie at Augusta National on Sunday on hole 14 in the most unlikely of ways.
After hitting his tee shot into the trees to the right, he was forced to lay up short of the green with his approach. Then, he hit a wedge that bounced past the green and into the backstop, it rolled down the slope and into the bottom of the cup for his second birdie of the day.

Finau’s reaction tells you everything, he gave a few air punches and was seen with a smile that reached from ear to ear.
His first birdie came the whole earlier on the par 5 13th.
Finau is currently two-under-par and 10 shots behind the leader Hideki Matsuyama. He is vying for his third top 10 finish at The Masters in just his fourth start. The only year that Finau did not make the top 10 since 2018 came in 2020 when he finished in a tie for 38th.
