This is the first National Championship under Co-Head Coaches Stacy Bills and Morgan St. Pierre. The two coaches replaced legendary coach Jodi Maxfield, who led the Cougarettes to their first 19 titles. She retired after last season.
BYU came into the event as the defending National Champions in 2019. Last year’s event was canceled due to COVID-19.
BYU didn’t quite match the high score of 99 they posted in 2019, but they still put together a dominant 96.2 performance score on the Daytona Beach Bandshell to pull away from the competition.
