SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Real Monarchs has signed Aris Briggs ahead of their 2021 USL Season, the club announced. Briggs was selected by Real Salt Lake with the 61st pick in the 2021 MLS SuperDraft earlier this year.
Briggs, 25, has signed his first professional contract after spending the previous three seasons with Georgia State University where he made 53 appearances. In every year at Georgia State, he was named to the Sun Belt Conference first team and in 2019 and 2020 was the Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Year. He stands at 6 foot 4 inches and is a force in front of the goal.

“Aris approached preseason with the professional teams in the right manner,” RSL Assistant General Manager Tony Beltran said. “His ability, character and willingness to learn over the past months culminates with him earning his first professional contract. We look forward to seeing Aris continue to develop this year under the direction of the Monarch’s staff.”
Over his 53 game career at Georgia State, Briggs scored 27 goals which is good enough for 9th all-time at Georgia State University.
Briggs becomes the ninth signing this offseason for the Monarchs after the club only kept three players on its roster following a disappointing 2020 season.
Real Monarchs will begin their 2021 season with an away trip to San Antonio on May 8th before their home opener on May 14 against LA Galaxy II.
