According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the New York Jets, who are projected by many football experts as Wilson’s landing spot in the NFL Draft, aren’t concerned about the quarterback’s shoulder that was surgically repaired in 2019.
The Jets currently own the No. 2 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
“#BYU QB Zach Wilson, who many believe is #Jets pick at No. 2, had shoulder surgery in 2019. But the #Jets didn’t need to wait for his Indy physical to feel confident in his shoulder,” Rapoport tweeted on April 8. “Based on info they’ve received from trusted medical sources, zero issues about Wilson’s shoulder.”

Zach Wilson’s 2019 Surgery
After Wilson’s freshman campaign came to an end, he underwent a procedure to repair the labrum in his throwing shoulder.
Wilson said that the injury dated by to his time at Corner Canyon High School in Draper, Utah.
The surgery caused the quarterback to miss BYU’s spring football practices and limited him during fall camp.
"I had labrum surgery. It was from high school. It was a nagging injury. I expect to be 100%" – Zach Wilson on his injury. #BYUMediaDay

Following an up-and-down sophomore season in Provo, Wilson looked 100 percent throughout the 2020 season and led the Cougars to an 11-1 record as a junior.
New York Jets
New York’s general manager, head coach, and offensive coordinator traveled to Provo to see Wilson throw during BYU’s Pro Day in late March.
After the Pro Day, Wilson was asked about his interactions with the Jets throughout the draft process.
“Great staff, love those guys. Joe Douglas is a great guy and it was good to see him out here. They got a good thing going,” Wilson said.
