PROVO, Utah – Is there anything that BYU mascot Cosmo can’t do?
At this point, Cosmo is just showing off to everyone. The National Champion mascot gave the world another stunt on Tuesday, and we’re all left in awe.
Cosmo took a walk down the “RB stairs.” For those who’ve gone to BYU or currently attend, the stairs near the Richards Building are a long stretch of 192 steps that feel like they will never end. Cosmo didn’t just walk down the stairs; he went down with only his hands and kept his legs straight up the entire time. Watch for yourself.

Cosmo has to be taking some CrossFit classes on the side or something because that’s just nuts. Former BYU football punter Jonny Linehan tweeted, “Alright big bro, you’re just showing off now. Cosmo is Mr. Steal Yo Girl. Sheesh.”
The only knock on this video is the old BYU basketball jersey from the 2014-15 season. Where are the current royal blue threads? But hey, I’m getting picky here because I’m tired just sitting here watching Cosmo put in the work.
BYU mascot Cosmo keeps performing wild stunts
In the winter of 2020, I put together a list of Cosmo’s 10 best moments. I’m tempted to put this “RB Stairs” stunt on the list. Some others include a “Do Not Try At Home” Slam Dunk he performed at the Marriott Center Annex.
During a football season, with barely any fans in attendance at LaVell Edwards Stadium last year, Cosmo still showed out with some impressive stunts, such as the bowling ball move against LA Tech. Don’t forget his rollerblading stunt that ended with a backflip. It’s getting to the point where Cosmo can do it all, and we need to sit back and admire.
