Early in the third quarter, Luka Doncic went down the lane and tried to get the layup to go but it was blocked by Rudy Gobert. That sparked a mini run by the Jazz as they pulled within five points just moments later.

Mike Conley was one of the few bright spots in the first half for the Jazz, scoring 13 of his 15 points in the first quarter. He ended the first quarter on a high note with a deep three-pointer with 17 seconds left in the opening period. Conley finished the first quarter with 13 of Utah’s 25 points as the Jazz trailed the Mavericks 27-25 entering the second quarter.
The Jazz are going for their 10th straight win before making a quick trip to Phoenix to face the Suns on Wednesday. Then they will play five straight games at home inside Vivint Arena.
