Donovan Mitchell Sports Baylor Davion Mitchell Jersey Ahead Of Championship Game

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Donovan Mitchell left no doubt about who he was supporting in tonight’s Baylor vs. Gonzaga NCAA National Championship game. The Utah Jazz guard showed up to American Airlines Arena to face the Dallas Mavericks wearing the jersey of Davion Mitchell, the Baylor guard who bears an eerie resemblance to the two-time All-Star.
In addition to their similar names, both players wear the number 45, play the guard spot, and have similar wide shoulder builds.
Also, like the Jazz guard, Baylor’s Mitchell is seeing his name quickly climb up NBA draft boards late in his college career. Like the elder Mitchell, Baylor’s guard was projected as a late first-round draft pick but is now likely to find his name selected in the lottery in July’s draft.

The likenesses aren’t lost on the Jazz star who said he has spoken to the Baylor guard throughout his recent rise to fame.
“I look at him and I see so many different things in myself in college and so many things that he can get better at that he has no idea yet either,” Mitchell said. “I think that’s that’s the coolest part.”
The Jazz Mitchell isn’t the only NBA player to recognize the two players’ similarities. Former Weber State guard and Portland Trail Blazers All-Star Damian Lillard also needed a double-take when watching Davion Mitchell play in a tournament game.
