SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah center Lahat Thioune has reportedly pulled his name from the NCAA Transfer Portal and will return to the Runnin’ Utes.
Lahat Thioune put his name in the portal on March 15, one day before Larry Krystkowiak was fired as head coach of the Utah basketball program. Now that Craig Smith is over one week into his new job as head coach, Thioune decided to return to Utah.
247Sports basketball reporter Travis Branham reported that Thioune pulled his name out of the portal.
The Dakar, Senegal native spent two seasons at Utah. As a freshman, he played in 25 games with two starts in the 2019-20 season, averaged 1.8 points and 2.3 rebounds in 9 minutes per game.
