Alfonso Plummer Announces Departure From Utah Basketball
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah basketball guard Alfonso Plummer announced he is leaving the Runnin’ Utes.
Plummer announced he will test the NBA Draft waters and enter the transfer portal.
“After several conversations with my coaches and family, I have decided to enter the 2021 NBA Draft ‘to test the waters’. I have also decided to enter the transfer portal to have more options if I return to play one more year of College,” Plummer wrote in a statement posted on Twitter.
During the 2021 season, Plummer averaged 13.6 points per game and posted a field goal percentage of 44.1. He averaged 28.2 minutes per game.
Utah basketball has lost multiple players to the Transfer Portal as of late, including one of their most high-profile players, Timmy Allen.
New coach Craig Smith will be tasked with replacing Plummer and the other transfers as one of his first big tests.
