SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – If you play golf you may have heard that if you stand over the golf ball and cover it with your shadow it will help it fall off the lip of the cup and into the hole.
Tony Finau hit a seven-foot par putt on the first to win the hole against Jason Kokrak on Friday but seemingly missed as the ball was hovering over the left side of the cup. However, when Finau covered the ball with his shadow it immediately dropped into the cup.

During the same round, Finau lipped out his tee shot on the par 3 fourth, coming within millimeters of making an ace. Unfortunately, Finau would miss his birdie attempt and Kokrak would make his.
Despite coming within a few millimeters of making an ace, Finau would lose the hole to Kokrak.
THAT close to an ace for @TonyFinauGolf. 😳#QuickHits pic.twitter.com/S0tCKvlxkz

Finau is playing in his final match play round of the week against Kokrak. The result will have no implications for Finau as he has no possibility of qualifying for the weekend.
Finau began his week with an ugly loss that only took 13 holes against Dylan Frittelli. He halved his match against Will Zalatoris on Thursday despite being one up going into the 18th hole.
