Report: Alex Jensen Pulls Out Of Consideration For Utes Head Coaching Job

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah Jazz assistant coach Alex Jensen has reportedly pulled his name from consideration for the Utes head coaching job.
Multiple reports throughout the week indicated that Alex Jensen was a strong candidate to be the next head coach of Utah basketball.
Tony Jones and Chris Kamrani of The Athletic first reported the news that Jensen will not be in consideration for the Utah job.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that former Utes guard and current New York Knicks associate head coach Johnnie Bryant remains a significant candidate in the Utes’ search.

Last week, Jeff Goodman of Stadium reported that Jensen was to interview for the Utah job, along with Utes AD Mark Harlan having interest in Bryant and Utah State head coach Craig Smith.
Jensen’s stock in the coaching profession has skyrocketed and doing so at the highest level of the sport. He is the right hand man to one of the best teams in the NBA in Quin Snyder and the Utah Jazz.
According to reports, the timing wasn’t right for Jensen to move to the college game.
The coaching search continues on as Utah athletic director will look for Larry Krystkowiak’s replacement.
