Red Rocks, BYU, Utah State, SUU Earn NCAA Regional Gymnastics Invitations

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Red Rocks (Utah), BYU, Utah State and SUU gymnastics programs all earned NCAA Regional invitations on Monday afternoon.
The Red Rocks and Utah State will compete in the Salt Lake Regional, while BYU will be in the Morgantown Regional. Utah is coming off of their first Pac-12 Championship since 2017 and won their second straight regular season title. The Salt Lake Regional will take place on Friday, April 2 in the second round as the No. 2 seed in the Regional, which will take place at the Maverik Center in West Valley City, Utah.
Utah will be in the first session which will begin at 1 p.m. MT. Also in the first session will be No. 11 Arizona State, Boise State and Southern Utah. In the second session is No. 1 seed and third ranked LSU, No. 14 Kentucky, Utah State and Temple and Arizona.
The Red Rocks finished the regular season with a 10-1 record and 6-0 in Pac-12 action. They have wins over BYU, SUU and USU (twice) in the Best of Utah event, along with wins over Arizona, Washington, Arizona State, UCLA, California and Oregon State. Their only loss came against Oklahoma.

BYU is coming off of winning the MRGC Championship up in Logan over the weekend. They will be the No. 3 seed in the Morgantown Regional and will be in the first session, competing against No. 5 California, Ohio State and Towson. In the second session will be No. 4 Michigan, No. 13 UCLA, Kent State, Penn State and West Virginia.
The Cougars finished second in the Best of Utah event. They beat Southern Utah (twice), Utah State, Boise State and Air Force. Their losses came against Arizona State, Boise State, UCLA, Oklahoma and Denver.

Utah State ended the season with a 3-12 record and 2-7 mark in conference play. They finished third in the Best of Utah event before getting wins over Southern Utah twice. Their losses came against BYU (twice), Utah (twice), Southern Utah (twice), Boise State (twice) and Denver.

The “Flippin’ Birds” held a 6-11 overall record and 3-6 in MRGC action this season. They finished fourth in the Best of Utah event before getting wins over Air Force, Utah State (twice), Boise State, Arizona and Air Force. Their losses came against BYU (twice), Boise State, Denver and Utah State (twice).
