INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana – March Madness has become synonymous with brackets. Imagine filling out the world’s biggest bracket during the tournament. That’s what the NCAA will be doing throughout March at the JW Marriott here in downtown Indianapolis.
Designed by Section 127 and printed by Sport Graphics, the world’s largest NCAA Tournament bracket is a point of focus during March Madness. In total, the bracket is nearly 47,000 square feet.

All 68 teams were officially filled in the side of the JW Marriott on Tuesday. The process didn’t officially begin until Tuesday because this year there were four potential replacement teams if anyone had to opt out due to COVID-19. Once the 4 p.m. (MDT) deadline passed, the bracket was locked in for the 2021 season.
At the top of the massive bracket reads, “Indiana: Where Champions Are Crowned.”
This is the first time in the 81-year history of the NCAA Tournament that the entire field is being played in one state. All 68 teams officially arrived in Indianapolis on Wednesday for what will be the first March Madness played since the COVID-19 pandemic struck the world.
Defending national champion Virginia was the last time to arrive as they continue to recover from COVID-19 issues within their program last week.
