Utah CB Aaron Lowe Switching Number To 22 In Honor Of Ty Jordan

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah cornerback Aaron Lowe is switching his number from 2 to 22 to honor the life of running back Ty Jordan.
Aaron Lowe finished his second season at Utah as Ty Jordan ended his freshman season during the 2020 campaign. They both attended West Mesquite High School and were longtime friends when arriving in Salt Lake City.
Utah football released the news on social media on Saturday evening.
“I want to make sure your legacy lives on through me.”@Ezmoneylowe will wear #22 this year to honor his best friend and our brother Ty Jordan.

“Since the day I met you I knew you would be a good person,” Lowe said. And it was because people always looked up to you. We never talked about going to college together. You wanted to stay closer to home because of your mom. But after you de-committed from Texas, we had that talk. I knew Utah could be a great opportunity for you to really be yourself.”
Ty Jordan passed away on Christmas night in Denton, Texas near his hometown to an accidental self-inflicted gun shot wound.

Lowe played all 11 games in 2019 on special teams and all five games in 2020. Utah will begin spring football practice on Monday.
