SUU Brings Big Energy To Beat Northern Colorado In Quarterfinals

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The first seeded Southern Utah University Thunderbirds beat Northern Colorado in the quarterfinal round of the Big Sky Tournament.
The final score of the game was 91-83.

Northern Colorado was the eighth seed in the tournament. The Bears started off strong, but the Thunderbirds were ultimately too much to handle.
John Knight III led the Thunderbirds to victory with 34 points.

Penalties seemed to plague Northern Colorado throughout the loss to SUU.
The Thunderbirds will move on to play the winner between Idaho State and Montana State in the semifinals. Idaho and Montana State play at 2:00 p.m. today in Boise, Idaho.

The semifinal round is slated for Friday, March 12.
Southern Utah finished the regular season with a 19-3 record as the Big Sky regular-season champions. Head coach Todd Simon was named Big Sky Coach Of The Year.
