SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah football announced on Wednesday afternoon their 2021 spring camp schedule that will end in April with the annual red/white spring game.
Utah will begin spring football on Monday, March 15 and will wrap up camp with the red/white game on Saturday, April 17. Practices will be closed to the public due to health restrictions.
The media will meet with head coach Kyle Whittingham, assistant coaches and players three times per week virtually throughout spring football.
There will be plenty of positions up for battle during spring ball that will linger to fall camp in August as the Utes gear up for a full 12-game schedule in 2021. Some of those battles include the quarterback position as returning starter Cam Rising will not participate in spring ball due to shoulder surgery he had during the 2020 season.
Important upcoming dates:

Utah picked up two quarterbacks in the transfer portal in Baylor QB Charlie Brewer and Texas signal caller Ja’Quinden Jackson. They also picked up two running backs in the portal in Oklahoma RB T.J. Pledger and Chris Curry from LSU.
Every starter on defense with the exception of safety Nate Ritchie will be back for the 2021 season. Ritchie is serving a two-year church mission.
The Utes will also need some young wide receivers to emerge with the departures of Bryan Thompson and Samson Nacua to the transfer portal. Thompson went to Arizona State and Nacua joined BYU.
Utah will open the 2021 season on Thursday, September 3 against Weber State at the newly renovated and expanded Rice-Eccles Stadium.
