Tony Finau Tee Times, Pairings Announced For Upcoming Players Championship

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Tony Finau will play the first two days alongside Phil Mickelson and Charles Howell III at TPC Sawgrass for The Players Championship this week.

Finau, Mickelson, and Howell III will tee off the 1st tee at 5:07 a.m. on Thursday before teeing it up on the 10th tee at 10:27 a.m. on Friday.

Prize Pool

The Players Championship marks the unofficial start to the Major golf season as the tournament, albeit not a Major, offers a prize purse of a staggering $15 million with first place receiving $2.7 million. The tournament boasts the second-largest prize pool on the PGA Tour only behind The Tour Championship.

Finau’s History At TPC Sawgrass

Finau’s history at The Players has been both good and bad. His first two starts in 2016 and 2017 saw Finau miss the cut. However, his previous two starts have seen him finish in a tie for 57th in 2018 when he collected $24,310 and in 2019 he finished in a tie for 22nd that warranted a check of $125,000.

Last year, the tournament was called off prior to the start of the second-round in response to the global COVID-19 pandemic.

Broadcast Info

The Players Championship will mark the first tournament in which the Every Shot Live app will be available for golf fans. The app, which is in conjunction with The PGA Tour, will offer a free live broadcast of every player in the field.

Furthermore, television viewers will be able to watch the action on The Golf Channel on Thursday and Friday will the broadcast beginning at 10 a.m. and running through until 4 p.m.

Then, the weekend will be broadcast on NBC starting at 11 a.m. and ending at 4 p.m on both Saturday and Sunday.
