Utah Valley Loses Regular Season Finale To Grand Canyon

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Valley men’s basketball team suffered a loss to the Grand Canyon Antelopes in the Wolverines’ regular season finale.
The Antelopes hosted the Wolverines on Saturday, March 6.
After earning a share of the Western Athletic Conference regular season title with a win over GCU a night earlier, UVU played from behind for most of the contest.
Grand Canyon won the game 74-64 and earned the top seed for the WAC Tournament.
Utah Valley owned a 10-point advantage early in the game before letting the Antelopes take control of the game with a big run.

The Wolverines finished the game shooting 45.1 percent overall and 30.8 percent from beyond the arc.
Fardaws Aimaq led UVU with 14 points and eight rebounds.

Jamison Overton added 13 points for the Wolverines.

The Antelopes shot 50.9 percent from the field, including 35.3 percent from three.
GCU out-rebounded UVU 37-27 overall and 9-3 on the offensive glass.
Alessandro Lever led Grand Canyon with 16 points.

With the loss, the Wolverines fell to a record of 11-10 on the season and 9-4 in WAC games.
Utah Valley’s next game will come during the upcoming WAC tourney.
