SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell will face tough opponents when he competes in the Three-Point Shooting Contest on Sunday during NBA All-Star weekend.
The Jazz guard will compete against Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker, Golden State Warriors guard Steph Curry, Chicago Bulls guard Zach Lavine, and Boston Celtics forwards Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.
Mitchell will be the first Utah Jazz player to compete in the three-point shooting contest in more than two decades. The Jazz were last represented by Bryon Russell in the 2001 contest in Washington DC.

Sharpshooter Jeff Hornacek won the contest twice for the Jazz in 1998 and 2000. The 1999 contest was canceled due to the NBA lockout.
Meanwhile, the NBA Dunk Contest has been paired down to just three contestants. Portland Trail Blazers guard Anfernee Simons, Indiana Pacers rookie Cassius Stanley, and New York Knicks rookie Obi Toppin will compete for the trophy.
The Skill Challenge will feature Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic, Suns guard Chris Paul, Orlando Magic big man Nikola Vucevic, Indiana Pacers forward Domantas Sabonis, Knicks big man Julius Randle, and Trail Blazers wing Robert Covington.

Unlike most All-Star weekends which have the Skills Challenge, Three-Point Contest, and Dunk Contest on Saturday night and the All-Star game on Sunday, all four events will be held on Sunday to shorten the weekend
The league has also done away with the Rising Stars Challenge and the Celebrity game ahead of the weekend.
Mitchell was named a reserve for the Western Conference All-Stars alongside Jazz center Rudy Gobert and head coach Quin Snyder. The All-Star draft will decide the makeup of the rosters on Thursday as captains LeBron James and Kevin Durant select their teams.
