Utah State Center Neemias Queta Honored As Mountain West Player Of The Week

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah State center Neemias Queta received Mountain West Conference Player of the Week honors for the second time this season.
The conference announced the recognition on Tuesday, March 2.
Queta was named the Mountain West Player of the Week for the second time in 2020-21 after posting back-to-back double-doubles against the Nevada Wolfpack.

In the Aggies’ first game with Nevada, Queta helped USU pick up a 75-72 victory. He recorded 16 points, 17 rebounds, two assists, three blocks, and one steal.
Two days later, Queta had another double-double with 26 points and 13 boards. He added six assists, one block, and one steal in Utah State’s 87-66 win over the Wolfpack.

This season, the junior center is averaging 14.8 points, 9.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 2.9 blocks, and 1.2 steals per contest.
He is shooting 56.5 percent from the field.
Queta and the Aggies currently own a 16-7 record and have two more regular season games remaining on the schedule.
Utah State’s next game is against the Wyoming Cowboys on Thursday, March 4 at 7:30 p.m. (MDT).
