Weber State QB Bronson Barron Named Big Sky Offensive Player Of The Week

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Weber State quarterback Bronson Barron was named Big Sky Offensive Player of the Week after their win over Idaho State on Saturday.
Bronson Barron was fantastic for Weber State in his college football debut as the Wildcats beat Idaho State 49-21 on Saturday in Pocatello. In his first collegiate start, Barron completed 17 of his 27 pass attempts for 312 yards and four touchdowns. He threw two TD’s to Rashid Shaheed, while connecting with Josh Davis and David Ames once.
Barron ran the ball five times for 42 yards as the Wildcats racked up 638 yards of total offense in their season opening win.
That was quite a debut!

Weber State had multiple players that could’ve won the weekly award from the Big Sky. Davis ran the ball 11 times for 106 yards and one touchdown. Dontae McMillan had 51 yards on 9 carries for two touchdowns. Shaheed finished with 5 receptions for 73 yards and two scores.
Weber State improved their record to 1-0 on the season. They were scheduled to face Cal Poly this week but the game was moved to April 17, leaving Weber State with a bye this week. Their next scheduled game is Saturday, March 13 at 1 p.m. MST against UC Davis. The game will be televised on KJZZ, streamed on Pluto TV channel 1054 and heard on 103.1 FM “The Wave.”
