Thunderbird Starters Combine For 72 Points To Carry SUU In Win Over NAU

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Southern Utah’s starting lineup combined for 72 of the team’s points in a 30-point blowout victory over the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks.
The Lumberjacks hosted the T-Birds on Friday, February 26.
Ivan Madunic, Maizen Fausett, John Knight III, Tevian Jones, and Dre Marin combined for 72 points in Southern Utah’s 92-62 win over NAU.
After leading by 10 points at the halftime break, SUU exploded for 50 points in the second half and ran away with the win.

Marin led the Thunderbirds with 20 points on 8-12 shooting.
SUU finished the game shooting 56.1 percent overall and 39.3 percent from beyond the arc.

Northern Arizona shot 40.0 percent from the field and 40.9 percent from three.

The Lumberjacks were led by Nik Mains’ 19 points.
With the win, the Thunderbirds improved to a record of 17-3 on the season and 10-2 in Big Sky Conference games.

It was SUU’s seventh straight victory. The Thunderbirds’ last loss came against Weber State on January 21.
Southern Utah’s next game is against the Portland State Vikings on Thursday, March 4 at 8:05 p.m. (MDT).
