BYU Men’s Volleyball, Grand Canyon Go Back-And-Forth For Longest Set In NCAA History

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – No. 1 BYU men’s volleyball and No. 9 Grand Canyon University played a competitive set that resulted in the longest set in NCAA history.
The Antelopes hosted the Cougars on Thursday, February 25.
After a lot of back-and-forth in the second set of the match, Grand Canyon won 45-43.
The stretch broke the record for the longest set in NCAA history.

The new mark is now 88 points.
Prior to the meeting between the Cougars and Antelopes, the record for the longest set was 86 points.
86 points have been scored twice all-time. The mark was first set during a match between Juniata and Lewis in 2010. The last time the mark was reached was in 2012 when Lewis and Ball State met.

Grand Canyon also won the first set, 25-22.
BYU entered Thursday’s match ranked No. 1 in the country with a 5-1 record this season.
