Fausett, Marin Combine For 42 Points, Lead Southern Utah To Win Over Northern Arizona

CEDAR CITY, Utah – Southern Utah’s Maizen Fausett and Dre Marin combined for 42 points to lead the Thunderbirds to a win over the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks.
The T-Birds hosted the Lumberjacks on Wednesday, February 24.
Fausett and Marin each scored 21 points in SUU’s 85-80 victory over NAU.
The combo began the contest scoring the team’s first 11 points, led by nine straight from Marin.

Southern Utah trailed by two points at the end of the first half before responding in the second half.
The Thunderbirds outscored the Lumberjacks over the final 20 minutes of action, 41-34.
SUU ended the game shooting 48.3 percent overall and 26.9 percent from beyond the arc.

Northern Arizona was limited to 49.2 percent from the field and 45.2 percent from three.
Cameron Shelton led the Lumberjacks with a game-high 25 points.
With the win, the Thunderbirds improved to a record of 16-3 on the season and 9-2 in Big Sky Conference play.

Southern Utah’s next game is the second of a back-to-back with Northern Arizona. SUU will host NAU again on Friday, February 26 at 12 p.m. (MDT).
