SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – For the third time this season, the Utah Jazz set the franchise record for most threes made in a game in their 132-110 win over the Hornets.
The Jazz made 28 three-pointers on 55 attempts in the win over the Hornets. Donovan Mitchell led the Jazz with 23 points and 8 assists. Georges Niang and Joe Ingles each made 7 triples and had 21 points. Jordan Clarkson added 20 points off the bench.
The 28 threes came from six players. Georges Niang (7), Joe Ingles (7), Jordan Clarkson (5), Mike Conley (4), Donovan Mitchell (3) and Royce O’Neale (2). Former Jazzman Gordon Hayward and the third overall pick LaMelo Ball led the Hornets with 21 points apiece. Malik Monk added 20 points off the bench.

Tightly Contested First Half By Jazz And Hornets
Both teams were exchanging buckets and small runs in the first half. It was looking good for the Jazz with Mike Conley and Royce O’Neale each opening the game with a pair of three-pointers. But LaMelo Ball and Gordon Hayward kept the Hornets in the game. The score was tied at 35 at the end of the first quarter.
In the second quarter, Charlotte were getting out and running and the Jazz at times had a hard time with the pace. Ball and Hayward were getting easy looks at the perimeter and in the paint. Utah stayed close despite not playing as well as they have been during the red hot streak.
The Hornets had a 67-64 halftime lead over the Jazz. Mitchell (10) and Clarkson (11) were the only two Jazz players to reach double figures in the first half. Ball led all scorers with 16 points and Hayward had 15 at the half.
A 5-0 run to end the half allows the @utahjazz to cut into the @Hornets lead, but still trail 67-64.

Jazz Jump Out To Big Lead With Early Fourth Quarter Run
After holding just a one-point lead going into the fourth quarter, the Jazz exploded to start the final period. They went on a 20-2 run. They received four threes from Georges Niang during that stretch, along with a triple from Mike Conley and Jordan Clarkson.
It seemed like the Jazz couldn’t miss from the perimeter and the Hornets didn’t have an answer for it. It was a 20-2 run in the first four minutes of the fourth quarter. They ended the third quarter on a 21-9 run over the last five minutes of the period. That led to a 41-11 run over a 7-minute span.
The Jazz improved their record to 25-6 on the year. They will wrap up their two-game homestand on Wednesday night as they battle LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. Tip-off is at 8 p.m. MST and will be televised on ESPN and AT&T SportsNet.
