Dixie State Splits Weekend Series With Big Win Over Tarleton State

ST. GEORGE, Utah – After falling to the Texans on Friday night, Dixie State bounced back with a 64-48 win over Tarleton State on Saturday night at home.
Dixie State had just a three-point lead over Tarleton State at halftime before outscoring the Texans 30-17 in the second half. Isaiah Pope led the Trailblazers with 22 points and 7 rebounds on 6-of-11 shooting, all coming from the three-point line. Andre Mulibea added 14 points off the bench.

Dixie State shot 41 percent (20-48) from the field, 39 percent (11-28) from the three-point line and 76 percent (13-17) at the free throw line. They shared the ball, racking up 16 assists on 20 field goals. Tarleton State had just 4 assists on 18 field goals.
Only one Texans player reached double figures and that was Freddy Hicks notching a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Tarleton State made 35 percent (18-51) of their field goals, just 15 percent (2-13) of their threes and 66 percent (10-15) of their free throws.

Dixie State improved their record to 8-11 overall and 4-8 in Western Athletic Conference play. They will wrap up the regular season with a two-game series at home against New Mexico State. The series will begin on Friday, March 5 and Saturday, March 6. Both games will tip-off at 7 p.m. MST and will be streamed on the WAC Digital Network.
