Woodbury, Cole Help UVU Win Inaugural Old Hammer Rivalry Game Against Dixie State

OREM, Utah – Utah Valley’s Trey Woodbury and Evan Cole combined for 35 points and led the Wolverines to a win over Dixie State in the inaugural Old Hammer Rivalry game.
The Wolverines hosted the Trailblazers at the UCCU Center on Friday, February 12.
After owning an eight-point lead at halftime, Utah Valley coasted in the second half and won the game, 87-72.
Woodbury led UVU with 18 points on 7-11 shooting, including 2-5 from three-point land.

Cole added 17 points on 6-9 field goals.

The Wolverines finished the contest shooting 54.0 percent overall and 35.3 percent from deep.
Utah Valley limited Dixie State to 37.7 percent from the field, including 29.2 percent from three.
Trevon Allfrey led the Trailblazers with 18 points.
Dixie State fell to 6-10 on the season and 2-7 in Western Athletic Conference play with the result.

With the win, UVU improved to a record of 7-7 and 5-1 in WAC games.

The two teams will rematch in Orem in the second game of a back-to-back series between the schools on Saturday, February 13 at 6 p.m. (MDT).
