Three Utah Gymnastics Stars Earn Pac-12 Weekly Awards

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Three members of the Utah Gymnastics team received Pac-12 Weekly awards after their performances against Washington.
Utah Gymnastics beat Washington on Saturday, January 30 at the Huntsman Center, 197.475-193.500.
Maile O’Keefe was named Pac-12 Gymnast of the Week, while Abby Paulson earned Pac-12 Specialist of the Week. Alexia Burch was voted as the Coaches’ Choice award winner.

It’s the second time that O’Keefe earned Pac-12 Gymnast of the Week after she won the all-around in the Red Rocks win over the Huskies. O’Keefe also won her fourth consecutive title on the beam and scored the first perfect 10 in the country this season. It was also the first perfect 10 of her career. O’Keefe recorded a 39.525 score in her all-around, which edged out three Huskies for her second title this season.
Paulson had a season high in three events against Washington. She had a season-high 9.90 on the floor, along with tying her career-high of 9.85 on bars.
Burch won her first Pac-12 weekly award of her career. The coaches in the conference voted her for the Coaches’ Choice award. She won her second straight vault crown with a season-high 9.925, along with a season-high 9.90 on beam.
The Red Rocks will be back in action on Saturday, February 6 on the road against Arizona State at 1 p.m. MST on the Pac-12 Networks.
