Utah Jazz Center Rudy Gobert Swats Shot Attempt By Mavericks Star Luka Dončić

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Jazz center Rudy Gobert rejected a shot attempted by Mavericks star Luka Dončić during the third quarter of Utah’s game against Dallas.
The Jazz hosted the Mavericks at Vivint Arena on Friday, January 29.
With 8:39 left in the third quarter, Dončić drove in the paints towards the basket before pulling up and pump faking Gobert. Despite Dončić’s move, the two-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year recovered, rose up, and swatted the shot with a crushing movement of his right arm.

After Gobert’s rejection, the Jazz owned a 71-47 lead.
At the end of the third quarter, Utah held a 94-68 advantage.
During the first 36 minutes of action, Gobert had 15 points, 11 rebounds, and two blocks. He posted a plus-six rating during his first 21 minutes on the court.
If the Mavericks goal was to slow down Gobert offensively, they have done a poor job. Gobert opens the game with 3 points and 5 rebounds in the first 2:20.
