SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The charitable contributions of Donovan Mitchell continue to pour out. On Monday, the Kennesaw State men’s basketball team tweeted a video of their coach Amir Abdur-Rahim revealing that the Utah Jazz guard had gifted each of the team’s players a new pair of his custom Adidas D.O.N. Issues #2 shoes.
Kennesaw State is a public research institution located in Northwestern Georgia. The Owls compete in the Atlantic Sun Conference.
“We’ve got some people that are family friends of people that are in our program and Donovan Mitchell is one of them,” coach Abdur-Rahim says in the video. “These people have been following us and they see what we’re doing. We talked about what we’re building, and he just wanted to bless us with a pair of his new shoes.”
Blessed to have those around us who care and see the work. 🙏

The Owls have had a difficult season so far with a record of just 3-13, including a winless streak in eight conference games.
“Don’t ever mistake a record or result for the work that we’re putting in,” Abdur-Rahim said to his players. “I truly believe in my heart the work we’re putting in is going to pay off here pretty soon.”
In the video, the Kennesaw State players return to their lockers to see the Mitchell custom red, black, and gold D.O.N. Issue #2s.

Mitchell responded to the Kennesaw State video with a quote tweet reading, “Yesssirrrr 🔥🔥🔥.”
The Jazz guard is no stranger to charity in his young career with the team. Mitchell has collaborated with sponsor Adidas to reward students across the country, and in December, announced he was donating $12 million to the Greenwich Country Day School where he attended growing up.
