SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Real Salt Lake will arrive for preseason on February 22 with the 2021 season scheduled to start on April 3rd.
The dates are subject to change and pending the ongoing negotiation between Major League Soccer and the Players Association. However, the news suggests that the MLS season is starting sooner rather than later.
No game schedule has been announced. The league did confirm that each club will play 34 regular-season games with MLS All-Star game, Campeones Cup and League Cup all to take place in late summer.
New Year, New Goals
RSL is looking to bounce back from a disappointing 2020 campaign in which the club finished second-last in the Western Conference.
The new arrivals of Bobby Wood and Rubio Rubin add a new element to a forward group that has struggled to score goals over recent years.

Manager Freddy Juarez and General Manager Elliot Fall enter their second season in their respective positions with growing pressure for success on the pitch.
Nonetheless, RSL continues to wait for a new owner to take charge and help guide the club forward. MLS is working alongside qualified candidates with the hopes that a new owner will take over RSL sooner rather than later. MLS Commissioner Don Garber remains optimistic that a new owner will be found soon.
