SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The New Orleans Saints ruled out former BYU quarterback Taysom Hill from playing in the NFC Divisional Round against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Saints are scheduled to host the Buccaneers on Sunday, January 17.

Prior to the game, New Orleans listed Hill among the team’s inactive players for the postseason contest.

Earlier in the week, the former BYU star was listed as “Questionable” with a knee injury. Hill reportedly suffered the injury with the Saints’ NFC Wild Card victory over the Chicago Bears.

Hill didn’t participate in the Saints’ practices on January 13 or 14. He was a limited participant in New Orleans’ practice on January 15.

The Saints finished the regular season with a 12-4 record and advanced to the Divisional Round after beating the Bears in the Wild Card.

The former BYU signal-caller played in all 17 games for the Saints, including four starts at quarterback during the regular season.

As the starting quarterback, Hill led New Orleans to a 3-1 record.

This season, Hill has thrown for 928 yards, four touchdowns, and two interceptions with a 72.7 completion rate.

In addition to passing, Hill has 87 carries for 457 yards and eight touchdowns.

In the receiving game, he has eight catches for 98 yards and a touchdown.

The Saints are slated to kick-off against the Buccaneers on Sunday, January 17 at 4:40 p.m. (MDT). The game will broadcast on FOX.
