Utah State Hires Former UCF Assistant Anthony Tucker As Offensive Coordinator, QB Coach

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah State head football coach Blake Anderson announced that former UCF assistant coach Anthony Tucker has been hired as the Aggies’ offensive coordinator and quarterback coach.
USU announced Tucker’s addition on Friday, January 15.
“Anthony obviously did an outstanding job at UCF and was an important part of their success the last three seasons,” Anderson said in a statement. “His offensive style is cutting edge and dynamic, and his West Coast background is critical for our recruiting moving forward. Anthony’s energy and offensive knowledge will be a great asset for the rest of our staff.”
Prior to joining the Aggies, Tucker served as UCF’s co-offensive coordinator and running backs coach.

Before starting his coaching career in 2006, Tucker played football at Fresno State and in the NFL for the New York Giants and St. Louis Rams.
“Coach Anderson has put together a staff of quality people with great energy and football acumen,” Tucker said. “I’m extremely excited to be a part of this next great chapter of Utah State Aggie football.”
Last season, Tucker helped coach the Knights to a 6-4 record and appearance in the Boca Raton Bowl against BYU.
In 2020, UCF ranked second in the nation in total offense with 568.1 yards per game and third in passing offense with 357.4 yards per contest.
Tucker is joining a Utah State program that posted a 1-5 record in 2020.

The Aggies struggled on offense and averaged only 15.5 points per contest and 135.8 passing yards a game.
