SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Real Monarchs continue to add to their depleted roster with the announcement that Colombian international Brayan Gomez will join the team pending league and federation approval, as well as the approval of a P-1 visa.
Gomez, 20, joins the Monarchs after a stint with CDC Atletico Nacional in Medellin, Colombia. He made his senior team debut in 2019 before being placed on a season long loan without a purchase option to Atlético Bucaramanga.

Gomez can play a number of different attacking positions including on the wing and as an attacking midfielder. He is thought to be a great distributor and can quickly impact a game through the assist category.
“Brayan is an exciting, young attacking player who joins the Monarchs after experience and success at the youth national team level. We look forward to seeing Brayan further his development under the guidance of our coaching staff,” Real Salt Lake Assistant General Manager Tony Beltran said.
At the international level, Gomez was part of Colombia’s 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup squad, appearing in all three group stage matches. In the 2017 U-17 South American Championships, he logged two assists in five appearances to help Colombia to a fourth-place finish.
