PROVO, Utah – BYU football offensive tackle Brady Christensen is officially a consensus All-American.

To be named a consensus All-American a player must be named first-team on at least two of the five selected All-America teams—American Football Coaches Association (AFCA), The Associated Press, Football Writers Association of America (FWAA), The Sporting News, and Walter Camp Foundation.

Christensen earned first-team recognition from the Associated Press and the Walter Camp Foundation. A former two-star recruit out of Bountiful High School, Christensen was a second-team All-American by the AFCA, FWAA, and The Sporting News.

Christensen is BYU’s first consensus All-American since tight end Dennis Pitta in 2009. He’s the 12th consensus All-American in BYU’s storied history that dates back to 1922.

A total of 29 players were selected to the Consensus All-America team for 2020.

Twelve different outlets have recognized Christensen as an All-American for his dominant level of play during the 2020 season. Christensen was instrumental in protecting the blindside for quarterback Zach Wilson as BYU’s offense was No. 3 in scoring offense this year averaging 43.5 points per game.

The BYU offensive line, which was led by Christensen, produced the program’s first 1,000-yard rusher (Tyler Allgeier) since 2016 (Jamaal Williams).

After an impressive three years of starting all 38 games at left tackle, Christensen announced in December that he would forego his senior year at BYU and declare for the NFL draft.
