Neemias Queta, Utah State Blast New Mexico To Remain Perfect In Conference Play

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah State center Neemias Queta and the Aggies cruised past the New Mexico Lobos to remain undefeated in Mountain West Conference play.
The Lobos hosted the Aggies at their temporary home court at Rip Griffin Center on the campus of Lubbock Christian University in Lubbock, Texas.
Queta and Utah State jumped out to an early lead and didn’t look back.
The center had 10 points and three blocks at halftime and the Aggies held a 41-18 advantage at the break.

New Mexico played better in the second half but Utah State still dominated and came away with a 77-45 victory.

Queta finished the contest with 18 points, five rebounds, one assist, one steal, and three blocks.
Overall, the Aggies shot 50.0 percent from the field, including 25.0 percent from beyond the arc.

New Mexico shot 27.8 percent overall and 25.0 percent from three.
It was USU’s seventh consecutive win and helped them improve to 8-3 on the season, including 5-0 in conference games.
The win helped the Aggies to a 5-0 mark in conference play since 2012-13, when they played in the Western Athletic Conference.
Utah State’s next game is the second game of a back-to-back with the Lobos.
The two schools are scheduled to tip-off on Friday, January 8 at 9 p.m. (MDT)
