Weber State Basketball’s Two-Game Series With Eastern Washington Canceled Due To COVID-19

OGDEN, Utah – Weber State basketball announced that their two-game series with Eastern Washington has been canceled due to COVID-19.
The game between Weber State and Eastern Washington was called off due to COVID-19 concerns within the Eagles program.
They were originally scheduled to clash in Ogden on Thursday, January 7 and Saturday, January 9. At this time, Big Sky Conference games that are canceled will not be rescheduled.

It’s the second consecutive week that Weber State had their two-game Big Sky series canceled after Idaho State had to call off their games on Thursday, December 31 in Pocatello and Saturday, January 2 in Ogden. They also had games against Dixie State and Utah State canceled due to COVID-19.
Since Weber’s series with Idaho State was canceled, they scheduled a home game with Utah Valley on Saturday, January 2. The Wildcats picked up a 70-62 win over the Wolverines.
Seikou Sisoho Jawara led WSU with 14 points on 5-of-8 field goal shooting and 2-for-4 from downtown. Isiah Brown added 12 points and Cody Carlson nearly had a double-double with 10 points and 9 rebounds. Zahir Porter and Dontay Bassett chipped in 9 points apiece.
The Wildcats are 4-3 this season and 1-1 in Big Sky play. They have wins over Adams State, Westminster, Portland State and Utah Valley. Their losses came against Boise State, Portland State and BYU.
Their next scheduled games are not until Thursday, January 21 at home against Southern Utah, followed by a return trip to Cedar City on Saturday, January 23.
